We tried the mapo tofu, mixed fungus, eggplant with string bean and spicy chicken. Everything was really good! Portion sizes are generous and the food was very fresh and delicious. They were very busy and the lady working the front by herself was very nice. Would definitely come back.

Quite amazing quality and freshness... walked in tonight and it was an empty restaurant but the waitress was really nice. We also got braised pumpkin fried in salted egg yolk. All the rice noodles were good and their Szechuan dishes were also authentic

Hidden gem in El Cerrito :)! It's on a less busy area of El Cerrito which makes parking doable and getting in for a small to medium party easy. Such a good portion size for the price too! Usually the noodle soups are good for about 2 servings. The food was flavorful and came out fast. Great place for a quick sit down meal with loved ones!

Food is good and must try the Yunnan style rice noodles, wonderful broth! Good variety of choices.

Slice fish in tofu and pickled cabbage soup, so SPICY good! I've tried this dish many times but never had it with serrano chile and sichuan peppercorns. Wow, that added a nice layer of complexity that this dish sometimes missed. Usually it's just a one note sour soup. In all honesty this dish should come with a warning. Unexpected soup slurpers are in for a surprise haha

The tomato yunan rice noodle soup is amazing and flavorful!! This is one of my favorite yunan noodle places. The chinese beef burrito was also very tasty and authentic. Definitely check out this place if you are looking for authentic chinese food

Rice Noodle in Pickled Cabbage Soup with tilapia (or was that swai) fillets was accented by hints of unexpected sichuan peppercorn numbness (but not overwhelmingly) accompanied by sour preserved vegetables, pepper, luncheon meat, wood ear mushroom in a very delectable soup base. The rice noodle was cooked just right. Chinese chive pockets above average, photogenic with thin crispy skin: tasted as good as they looked with well-prepared chive filling. Crispy pork ribs had strong notes of cumin, fried to a lovely crispness, tender pork under its cover: very delicious eaten together with the garlic, scallions, peanuts and jalapeno mixture underneath it but portion is not large. Excellent and prompt service. Very clean restroom.

Is this considered a hidden gem? Despite their specialty Yunan style rice noodles being in their name, we had delicious homestyle dishes instead. Parking was a bit challenging as you cannot park in the nearby lot with the motel and Thai restaurant. - Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetable in Soy Sauce: My dad's favorite dish comprised of fatty, soft, thick slices of pork belly over the preserved veggies with a thick sauce. Different restaurants make this differently. This had a real home-y feel due to the soy sauce base with a hint of sweetness in this dish. I haven't had this style of flavor in a very long time. - Braised Eggplant with Grounded Pork: This also had a perfectly nostalgic taste to it! The pork was chewy and fatty and the eggplant cooked to perfection. Easily my favorite dish. - Hand Made Pork Dumpling: Slippery, thin wrappers filled with juicy pork inside. These were huge! This took a while to come out. They were so packed with in-house orders and outside orders when we went on a Saturday night. There were only 2 servers so it was difficult to get a hold of them to order, box up, refill the small cups of water, etc. But I really enjoyed the place!

Christmas Day lunch! Just a perfect place for a huge Christmas lunch. I got a kick out of their menu - American Chinese food section. And you know what, my family was definitely ordering from that section heavily! Came here with my 80 year old parents, my brother and husband for a Christmas Day feast and this place did not disappoint! Wonton soup, potstickers, orange chicken, beef chow fun, sweet and sour shrimp, broccoli beef, sweet sticky pork ribs.... everything was so delicious! Service was excellent, lots of water and hot tea refills. Food came out super fast and piping hot. Definitely this little unassuming place on San Pablo impressed the heck out of us and gave us a very nice experience.
